Action E.1: Realization of the project's image and design of the material of divulgation
The project's image has been conceived, including the logo and the graphics, which are common
to every divulgation material foreseen, in order to realize the graphic designing of the divulgation
papers foreseen by the following E actions.
The team is composed by a graphic expert supported by expert naturalist communicators, which
will have the duty of writing the texts and supporting the graphic expert in the choice of the
pictures.
The action will start from the first year and will follow the project in its whole duration for the
realization of the following action.
Action E.2: Realization of a divulgation flyer on LIFE project
Print and distribution of a flyer about the conservation of Little bustard, the SPA interested in the
LIFE project and the Natura 2000 Network. It is intended for residents and tourists of the area. Its
subject will be the project and the project's principal actions.
The flyer will give the local population the chance of taking full consciousness of the ongoing
project, while the tourists will be able to know the naturalistic values of the sites and the species.
Action E.3: Realization of a comic on Little bustard
EA comic about Litte bustard and its habitats will be printed and distributed. It is intended for
schools, residents and tourists. The comic's story will be particularly useful to stimulate the
awareness of the youngest who approach the themes about the conservation of natural resources.
Action E.4: Realization of a divulgation brochure
A brochure about the Little bustard, its habitat and the actions of conservation foreseen by the
project, will be printed and distributed, intended for residents and tourists.
Action E.5: Information desk for the local sustainable agriculture
A specific service called "Information desk for the local agriculture" will be activated in order to
keep in touch with farmers and livestock breeders, which are resident and active in the whole
project area.
The information desk will be directly managed by the staff of Coldiretti, one of the most
representative associations of its category, in both local and national context. It will be also able
to exploit the daily frequentation of the farmers in its offices, for the promotion of activities of
conversion to the organic practices, with a special care for the role that the farmers may have in
the protection of Little bustard and for the breeding and agricultural practices, according to the
measures of Community Agricultural Policy at regional and/or national level.
Action E.6: Realization of informative panels with notice board
20 informative color panels with a wooden notice board will be realized and installed in the
principal interventions areas, intended for the general public.
The panels will be installed in:
- areas interested by actions B1, C1;
- the breeding centre foreseen by action C2.
The panels will be realized during the development of the project, in conclusion of every
intervention, which they are referred to.
Action E.7: Activation of a website dedicated to the Little bustard and the LIFE project
A website intended for the awakening of the public has been realized. The project and its several
aspects will be explained. The website will be periodically updated with the status of the project
and the objectives that have been already reached.
Action E.8: Realization of an audiovisual documentary
An audiovisual documentary of about 20 minutes will be realized and intended for a large public.
It will explain the Little bustard ecology, the naturalistic values of the sites and the threats for the
species and the habitat. The movie will also document the actions realized within the project. The
audiovisual material in high definition will be distributed on DVDs.
Actions E.9, E.10, E.11: Program of environmental education intended for the schools in Gargano
National Park, Alta Murgia National Park and Murgia materana Regional Park
These programs are intended for teachers and students of primary and secondary schools in the
project area.
The teachers will receive didactic tools in order to turn the SPA into an opened laboratory for
the experimental learning of sciences, trying to extend in time the results of the environmental
education program.
The teaching module will be consist of a class meeting and a guided tour in the project areas.
The programs will be developed during the whole duration of the project and will also foresee
the realization and distribution of a kit of didactic material (2 didactic notebooks, a sticker, a pin
badge, etc.).
Actions E.12: Public awareness
A specific program of animation activities is foreseen to spread the knowledge of the project and
the Little bustard, through the slogan "Let's cultivate biodiversity in the Apulian Natural Parks", in
order to involve the local population. This action foresees six meetings with the local stakeholders,
divulgation conferences (info day), involving local Authorities, trade associations, environmental
organizations, etc.
These are presentations of a couple of hours, when the expert and the project's staff will explain
the citizens the contents and the aims of the project, showing the threats for Little bustard and
the objectives that will be reached through the LIFE project. The conferences will be realized
starting from the second year of the project: two conferences per year are foreseen for each SPA
(six conferences in total).
Moreover, a desk of the agricultural associations will be created to share a behavior protocol in
order to support the presence of the species in the farms located in the two Parks and to create a
web of farms for nature.
The program of the activities intended for the local populations will be publicized by posters and
playbills.
Action E.13: Realization of a periodic newsletter on the project's activities
Realization of a periodic newsletter to spread the activities of the project LIFE+, intended for
the local residents and tourists. It will consist of five numbers on the project's activities, to be
distributed to every stakeholder resident in the area through the offices of local Authorities and
land promotion.
Action E.14: Press conference and press releases
A first press conference has been organized for the project's start, while press releases will be
produced during the development of the project and spread by local Medias (televisions and
newspapers).
Afterwards, there will be the participation to debates, exhibitions and meetings organized by third
parties. A press officer will be nominated for the execution of this action.
Action E.15: International final meeting
This action foresees the realization of a final meeting, where the interventions realized and the
results obtained with the present LIFE project will be explained. Experts in species and habitat's
management of the CEE DGXI Committee will be invited to the meeting. They are managers and
advisors of other similar LIFE projects who have experience in actions of conservation and will be
contacted with the action of networking.
The meeting will be an opportunity of analysis and divulgation of the results obtained by the
end of the project, comparing them with those of other LIFE project, whose objective were the
conservation of the species object of the intervention.
E.16: Production of a final divulgation report in Italian and English
A final divulgation report will be edited. It will be a report of 5-10 pages, both in English and in
Italian, intended for a general public.
E.17: Monitoring of the farmer's behavior in the intervention areas
This action will check the possible variations of rural section and economic operator's sensitivity
about the project, the species and the willingness to assume eco-friendly behavior, through the
monitoring of the knowledge of the species and the problems linked to the nature's conservation.
This action will be realized in two steps, with the help of the compilation of schedules on the
operators' knowledge about the species and the problems of conservation of natural resources:
• Initial schedule: the schedule will show the operators' knowledge and sensitivity at the project's
start;
• - Survey schedule: this schedule will check the variations by the knowledge of the project, of
the remarkable species and the grassy eco-systems and the willingness to assume eco-friendly
behaviors. It will be realized starting from the second year of the project and will last for the whole
duration of the project.
The activities will be realized in the SPA object of intervention.
