Intervention area

The project concerns a large part of the area where the species' presence was historically registered. This area goes through two regions, i.e. Puglia and Basilicata, and four provinces: Foggia, Barletta Andria Trani, Bari and Matera. Moreover, this wide land characterized by the Mediterranean steppe environment along with wheat and other cereal-cultivated areas, includes Gargano National Park, Alta Murgia National Park and Parco Regionale delle Chiese Rupestri del materano. The interested area is also included in four different SPA, such as the very large "Murgia Alta" and "Valloni e Steppe pedegarganiche".
