Action D.1: Scientific monitoring of the impact of the project actions
This action foresees a monitoring activity of the Little bustard populations in the project area,
following action A2 and comparing the data collected through action A3 for the survey of the
suitable areas. It will be preceded by the pre-arrangement of a detailed monitoring plan (that will
be submitted to the valuation of the scientific committee-action F3), in which the focusing of the
monitoring's objectives, times and research methods will be reported.
The scientific monitoring will value the results obtained by the realization of the foreseen
interventions for the conservation of the species in the intervention area. It will be also useful to
spot the breeding sites in the rural area in order to protect them (action B1).
The field activities will be divided in periods:
- march-june: survey of the breeding sites/lek;
- june-september: survey of the young of Little bustard’s dispersion;
- october-january: survey of winter groups;
- all year long: monitoring of the specimens released in the restocking activities. with gps-tracker
Action D.2: Monitoring of the socio-economic impact of the project
All the activities foreseen within the actions of sensitization need a particular monitoring that will
check the project's socio-economic impact. A survey will be realized to measure the population's
consent, through the submission of a schedule in the four SPA involved (within the area of
Gargano National Pak, Alta Murgia National Park, Murgia materana Park).
